Tunnel Vision Event Poster

If you’ve been wanting a better understanding of the Line 5 oil tunnel’s real risks and are looking for ways to engage to help stop it, you’ll want to attend. If you'd like to watch the livestream of the event, go here.

Groundwork Center, Sierra Club, Progress Michigan, and Oil & Water Don't Mix have teamed up to present the event.

Some of the leading voices in the movement to shut down Line 5 will offer a compelling, clear, and multi-layered picture of why the oil tunnel is a risky and false solution—and explain why we cannot afford to wait to shut down the existing dual pipelines. A Q&A session will give you a chance to ask your questions.

Presenters will also suggest ways you can take action to help stop the proposed oil tunnel and, more broadly, help shut down the freshwater apocalypse-in-waiting known as Line 5.

This event happens at a crucial moment in the arc of Line 5, with multiple court cases and permit reviews underway and key decisions expected in the coming months.

Speakers include:

  • Dan Bock, Michigan Attorney General's Office
  • Brian O’Mara, Geological Engineer and 30-Year Tunnel Expert
  • Frank Ettawageshik, Executive Director of the United Tribes of Michigan
  • Denise Keele, Executive Director Michigan Climate Action Network
  • Sean McBrearty, Operations Director, Oil & Water Don’t Mix
  • Ashley Rudzinski, Climate & Environment Program Director, Groundwork

After you RSVP below to let us know you're coming, you'll be sent to a Groundwork Center website to purchase tickets (only $5).
